I’ve put these slides of landscapes and family situations in the ground in the year 2000 and dug them up in the year 2020. These slides are moldy and affected by nature. If you leave something outside for a longer period, nature takes over.

"Muted Songs for Piano" is an intimate, nocturnal album by Nicolas Rombouts and Matt Watts, born from a spontaneous collaboration to explore themes of personal struggle and grief. The music features fragile compositions that blend piano, vocals, and double bass.
I'm honored that they chose one of my works for the cover of this beautiful album. The artwork resonates deeply with their music: in 2000, I buried photographic slides of landscapes and family scenes in the ground and unearthed them twenty years later, in 2020. Over time, nature had taken over, leaving the slides moldy, weathered, and transformed.
